Polymer Clay

Iron Companion Titan

The Iron Companion Titan sculpture was Pop Figure inspired. The completed project took approximately 14 hours. In order to get a smoother look to the armor I conditioned the clay to be very firm. I created an ultra-fine point sculpting/texturing tool used to add cross-hatching to the class item and add detailing to the helmet.

A Polaroid cube was mounted to a tripod while I created the armature, bulked out the form, sculpted the clay, and painted the model.

This was a project of many firsts for me. It was the first time I sculpted using Super Sculpey; the first time I tried drybrush and wash painting techniques on a model, and it was my first time documenting the process with video.

A Polaroid cube was mounted to my chest while I created the armature, bulked out the form, sculpted the clay, and painted the model. The total time was around 14 hours.
